In contrast to condos and townhomes that are designed to house multiple families, and rented out as individual units, a villa is generally a single-family home that can be rented as a whole. This means more privacy, better value and a lot more space and flexibility. Most importantly it gives that home away from home feeling.

We have rented out beaches houses in Rosemary Beach, an overwater villa in Bora Bora, Maldives and more recently a condo in Turks and Caicos, and here is why we think renting a villa is a great option for family vacations, especially in the Caribbean Islands or other beach destinations. Renting a private villa gives families the best of both worlds: luxury amenities and the familiar comforts of home comforts.

On a recent trip to Turks and Caicos, we spent most of our morning enjoying the view of swaying palm trees and jewel-tone waters from the patio. (Can you see the reflection on the window?) It was one of those trips where we wanted to just be and not do anything!

Privacy

Privacy is absolutely the best advantage of renting a villa instead of staying at the hotel. If you are going on a vacation with your family, you will appreciate having more privacy, staying together under the same roof, having your own pool, and sunbathing decks; you will avoid the unpleasant pool sharing experience. Your kids will enjoy having their own entertainment that they can use anytime they want.

More Space & Comfort

When staying at the hotel, you will have to share space with others, but having your own villa guarantees you more space including a living room, dining room, a pool, and/or a garden to enjoy with your kids. You will have total comfort and freedom to spend your vacation at your own pace. Renting a villa allows you to have a nice vacation, staying with your family you will feel like home, you kids can spend their time freely, some villas have private access to the beach too.

Value: One of the BIGGEST Advantages of Renting a Villa

Renting a villa can be less expensive than a hotel; renting a villa costs less than multiple hotel rooms if you travel with your family or with a big group of family and friends. Many large villas offer relative pricing options, and if you have a group of 4 and need a villa with two bedrooms, you can always rent a larger villa and pay for the rooms you want to use; the other unused room will simply get locked. Super cool right?

Depending on your vacation time, there is a wide range of renting prices. Renting on Christmas or New Year, for example, is more expensive than other times of the year. The length of staying is another effective factor; some villas offer a discount for reservations for more than two weeks. Location, proximity to the beach, quality, size, services, and other factors contribute to the price.

For example, renting a two-bedroom nice villa in St. Barth average cost ranging between 3200$- 5000$ per week, around 3600-4900$ in St. Martin and can go up to 11000$ for a fancy villa, around 3100$-$4600$ in Antigua, 2800$ -4400$ in Jamaica during the value season, the rent increase in high season up to 7000$-10000$. As we mentioned before, there is a wide range of rental prices, and it is crucial to consider all factors when picking a suitable villa.

Wider Specialization Options & Personalized Experience

There are many options to choose from when renting a villa. The villa location and how far it is from the beach and other places is an important point to you. If you have young kids, you might like to consider a villa with child-friendly features. Renting villas for families offers many specialized options.

Many people think that they can’t have access to the many services that hotels provide like housekeeping and concierge services when renting a condo or villa. But that is not quite true. When you rent a villa, you can have access to these services and more. Some rental agents even provide services like an airport shuttle and help arrange activities and tours.

You can also decide the number of bedrooms you need, how many beds there are and the bed size, furniture, number of bathrooms, internet access, and the availability of other services like cleaning service, butlers, nanny service, chefs who can cook your meals or drivers who can chauffeur you around town.

You will have access to many personalized experiences when staying in a private villa, making your holiday memorable, and worry-free.

Control & Peace of mind

How many times have you rushed down the stairs trying not to miss the breakfast buffet at the hotel? Because the kids were sleeping in after a day in the sun. We have several times! Does this scenario happen to you when spending a vacation with your family? Renting a villa can save your day by giving you complete control over your journey. Many villas have their staff, and you are their only guest. You can have breakfast and other meals whenever you want. Or you can decide to prepare your own meals., depending on your preferences.

Some agencies offer you housekeeping services every day or twice a week. Many villas are being taken care of by a villa manager. This manager is responsible for scheduling all services like cleaning the villa, pool, and private chefs’ cooking services. The staff usually don’t live in the villa.
