Conch shells at the Da Conch Shack

From casual eats to fine dining overlooking the ocean, you will have many memorable meals when visiting Turks and Caicos. Some of our personal favorites were Da Conch Shack, where you can dine with your feet in the sand and watch the waves, Omar’s Beach Hut for its fresh Seafood and Egeo on Grace Bay for a romantic candlelit dinner of fine Greek cuisine.

But the island does not just stop there, every October it also hosts the Caribbean Food & Wine Festival, bringing together some of the best chefs from around the world for a fun weekend of food, wine tasting, and cooking demonstrations.

Da Conch Shack

You can’t visit Turks & Caicos without trying their island delicacy, Conch! You will see these large pink and cream-colored conch shells in most shops around the island. At The Conch Shack, they harvest them fresh out of the water a couple of hundred feet away from the restaurant, shell and then fry them.

You will feel like a castaway sitting on the picnic tables with your toes in the sand. Da Conch Shack beach restaurant is an iconic spot that is on everyone’s must-visit restaurants in Turks & Caicos list. There are many photo ops here including the giant pink chair out front. Add this little out of the way spot located in the Blue Hills neighborhood just west of Grace Bay Beach to your Turks & Caicos Itinerary.

What to order: Cracked Conch, Coconut conch stew or Conch Salad. Conch Fritter is a must try if this is your first time in Turks and Caicos. We loved their PeppaJoy Chicken Tacos and Johnny Fries, French Fries seasoned with Turks and Caicos salt drizzled with black bean and local pepper sauce. Mahi Mahi with Tropical Salsa is another great option when available.

Omar’s Beach Hut

Omar’s Beach Hut is located right next to the fish market in Five Cays. It is a little off the beaten track to get there but worth the trip. You can’t miss the brightly colored huts when driving to Omar’s. We loved the Island vibes and friendly service. The seafood here is exceptionally fresh.

What to order: At Omar’s, the Seafood, of course, comes highly recommended, especially the conch which comes fried or curried. If it’s not, you won’t go wrong with the jerk dishes. They also have veggie wraps and fried plantain (a family favorite).

If you are going on a fishing trip, you can bring your catch to Omar’s and they will turn them into a tasty meal for you.

Mr.Grouper

Considered one of the most popular Turks and Caicos eats, Mr. Groupers serves authentic island cuisine. If you want to dine in one of the best restaurants in Turks and Caicos, Mr. Groupers is a must-try. This restaurant offers delicious food made from freshly caught seafood.

What to Order: Start off with some Coconut Shrimp fried to perfection and served with mango chutney. Follow it up with a piece of Blackened Grouper that comes with 2 sides of your choice. The boys went with mashed potato, and mac and cheese.

The Deck at Seven Stars, Providenciales

Turks and Caicos is home to many lovely resorts and a wide variety of fine dining restaurants hosted at these resorts. Seven located at the Seven Stars Resort is one of them. The Deck is the more casual alternative to Seven, which is another restaurant in the resort. So, its menu runs toward more laid-back fare, such as burgers, sandwiches and pizza. You can enjoy island-inspired fare, sundowners, mojitos and local brews overlooking Grace Bay

Tip: Time your dinner so that you can enjoy the sunset views.

What to Order: There are several options for vegetarians on the menu, including a vegetable wrap and pizzas.

Egeo on Grace Bay

Looking for a nice atmosphere, something other than Caribbean cuisine, say Greek food? We loved Egeo on Grace Bay, They had warm pita bread, wonderful dolmades, delicious whole branzino, excellent pasta, warm pita, and excellent wine choices. One of our best evenings in Providenciales was spent dining at this restaurant.

Go to Las Brisas Restaurant for the best view in Chalk Sound

Looking for a restaurant with the best view of Chalk Sound, a turquoise lagoon filled with hundreds of little rocky islands? Make the drive out to Las Brisas Restaurant to dine on their spacious deck or the picturesque gazebo

Watching the brilliant blue and iridescent waters of Chalk Sound is mesmerizing. The menu features Tapas and Mediterranean cuisine with a Caribbean spin. Take South Dock Road, and turn right at Chalk Sound Drive to Neptune Villas on your right. You can also plan for some water adventures while you are here like a Pontoon Boat Cruise on Chalk Sound or a Sunset Cruise.

Coco Bistro located amidst the largest palm grove on the island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands is another great place for dinner.

For truffle pasta and some french cuisine, go to Le Bouchon Du Village

The house wine and pasta at Bella Luna Ristorante are perfect if you looking for some Italian food when visiting Turks and Caicos.

Craving some Asian food, try the Thai Orchid or a very local spot called

Shay Café & Lounge for Breakfast, Snacks & Coffee

Tired of morning fare at your resort, head to this great breakfast place on Grace Bay road. Open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 2 pm, the Shay Cafe is a popular spot for ice lattes, omelets, and crepes. Run by a Canadian couple this cafe offers locally roasted Coffee, Tea, Breakfast, snack, and Lunch items.

What to order: Whether you love Cappuccinos, Macchiatos, Flat Whites, or Iced Lattes, you will find it here. It truly is the best place for coffee in Turks and Caicos. We loved the banana pancakes and Nutella crepes here.

Best Frozen Yogurt & Ice cream in Turks and Caicos

Turkberry Frozen Yogurt, and Island Scoop were two of our favorite places to get a scoop of ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Where to Stay in Turks and Caicos

For timeless luxury, book a stay at the Grace Bay Club, an iconic place overlooking Grace Bay Beach which is consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, or the newly opened Ritz Carlton. If you stay at the Ritz, plan for a day out to sea on their catamaran Lady Grace or go on a sunset cruise.

Families will love Beaches Turks & Caicos or the many condo options on the island, where you will have your own kitchen and more space than a hotel room. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Oceanview suite at The Bianca Sands. It was located directly on the beach and a short walk to amazing restaurants and shopping. The place was very private, well-appointed, spacious, and had amazing views from our patio.

The pool area is stunning, and the gardens are colorful with bright pink bougainvillea everywhere. In my opinion, this is one of the best places to stay for a family holiday in Turks and Caicos.

I hope this helped you plan your next trip to the islands and enjoy some of the best restaurants in Turks and Caicos.
