The 3 of us, college buddies, setout for some catching up and change in scenery to the beautiful desert of Arizona. We stayed at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia in Scottsdale. A beautiful resort with a back drop of the picturesque Camelback Mountain and Alhambra like walkways. The Spanish and Moroccan inspired property transported us to Spain, we spend out first night there catching up over cocktails lounging around a fire pit by the pool. But this post is not about our trip but about the beautiful resort of Montelucia that had me googling Alhambra (sorry didn’t know what it was at that time). It was perfect for our Girls trip or any trip for that matter if you are looking to relax with family or friends in a pretty property with world-class restaurants.
Located in the exclusive enclave of Paradise Valley, Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia is an intimate oasis inspired by the Spain’s Andalusia region. The resort features arching entryways, tranquil fountains and floral walkways make you feel like you are in some Andalusian village.
After I got back from this trip, I quickly planned a trip to Spain to visit Barcelona, Andalusia and especially Alhambra
We did a day trip to Sedona to ride the pink jeeps and went on a hot air balloon ride over the Sonoran desert. But we loved the resort so much that we ended spending most of our time wandering the floral walkways and lounging at the well appointed chairs and loungers around the pool, fire pits and manicured gardens.
The Joya Spa take things up a whole notch with Scottsdale’s only Hammam spa – kinda like a Steam room, only cooler where you can relax and rejuvenate. They also have Private Meditation, Labyrinth meditation, Acupuncture, Acupressure and an array of other services that even included Tarot reading and Lip print reading. Since we had other activities we missed out on it. Still kicking myself for it, they have beautiful terrace with a pool and views of the camel back mountain. We might have to make a family trip back there soon !
