Verona was founded sometime in the 1st century BC, which is evidenced by the prominent Roman remains that you see in the city.  These include the amphitheater, the Arco dei Gavi, the Porta dei Borsari, and the ancient theater<\/strong> on the left bank of the Adige river. We stopped in Verona during our fall trip to Northern Italy<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
