District. It has six peaks that you can see. If you want to get to Blencathra&#8217;s summit, there are several walking trails that you can try depending on your level of expertise. The most popular trail and also the most difficult would be the Sharp Edge trail up Blencathra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This trek will challenge your hiking skills. Therefore, having reliable hiking footwear and a pair of <a href=\"https:\/\/montemlife.com\/trekking-poles-hiking-sticks\/buyers-guide\/\">hiking poles<\/a> are a must-have for the trek.  Trekking pole improves your balance and also helps alleviate pressure on both your spine and legs.  If hiking in England during the summer bring plenty of food and water, a hat and sunscreen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do take note that even\nif you don\u2019t choose the Sharp Edge trail, Blencathra can be quite slippery when\nwet. Therefore, you should prepare to deal with potentially slippery footing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the intimidating\nreputation that Blencathra has, it shouldn\u2019t take you more than three hours to\nreach the top. Plus, you\u2019ll get a fantastic view of the rolling hills from atop\nthe mountain at the end of all the trails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hadrians_Wall\"><\/span><strong>Hadrian\u2019s Wall<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a long-distance hike around in England, then Hadrian\u2019s Wall is one that you don\u2019t want to miss, especially given its historical roots. Walking the entirety of the trail along Hadrian\u2019s Wall will allow you to see the green English countryside to the fullest.  This is one of the best hikes in England, it combines gorgeous scenery with some English history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrary to popular belief, Hadrian\u2019s Walls does not mark the border between England and <a href=\"https:\/\/outsidesuburbia.com\/travel\/europe\/scotland\/things-to-do-in-scotland-with-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Scotland  (opens in a new tab)\">Scotland <\/a>but it is actually entirely in England. Initially, the purpose of this wall was to fortify the north-west of the Roman Empire. Now, it\u2019s a popular hiking trail as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The entire trail will take you around seven days or more to accomplish, given its length of about 118 km or around 73 miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you plan on hiking this trail, try and get yourself the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrail.co.uk\/en_GB\/trails\/hadrians-wall-path\/news\/\">National Trail Hadrian\u2019s Wall Passport<\/a>. Due to this purpose, a lot of the South West Coast Path is quite\nnear the coast, which makes for a fair opportunity to get amazing views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, you can find a\nvariety of landscapes ranging from quaint villages to sandy beaches. This trail\nis also home to much local flora and fauna, from dolphins and whales to local\nbirds and flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Pennines\"><\/span><strong>The Pennines<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to\nbeautiful sceneries in England, the Pennines certainly can\u2019t be beaten. The\nPennines are a collection of hills and mountains which people have described as\nthe backbone of England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beauty of the\nPennines is so well-regarded that the UK government\u2019s agencies have declared it\nas an <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.openstreetmap.org\/wiki\/Areas_of_Outstanding_Natural_Beauty_(UK)\">Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty<\/a>. Places that have received this recognition are\nprotected and conserved due to their landscape value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This recognition makes\nsense since the Pennines is the oldest National Trail of England. Therefore, it\nwould very much interest you to go to the Pennines, knowing that it&#8217;s famous\nfor its beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On that note, the most famous trail of the Pennines would be the Pennine Way. Covering a distance of 268 km or around 166 miles, you might spend approximately 19 days completing the entire trail.  This trail is not for the faint of heart, so make sure that you\u2019re prepared to tackle this long-distance trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Malvern_Hills\"><\/span><strong>Malvern Hills<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another Area of\nOutstanding Natural Beauty that you should consider hiking would be the various\ntrails that you can find around the Malvern Hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The multiple paths around the Malvern Hills offer something different in terms of difficulty.  &nbsp;From a gentle stroll along a tree-lined path to an energetic hike along the ridge of the Malvern Hills, there\u2019s a trail that you can manage no matter your level of hiking expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you plan on traversing across the Malvern Hills and commons, stop by a local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitthemalverns.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Tourist Information Center (opens in a new tab)\">Tourist Information Center<\/a> first. Much like Blencathra, there are multiple ways you can reach the top based on your preferred difficulty. It can take you three hours to almost seven hours to get to the top, depending on your chosen route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, much like Blencathra, you have to be careful when hiking up these parts, especially when you\u2019re hiking on the Striding Edge trail. You can also hike through Janet\u2019s Foss which is a 4 km round trip from the parking lot. Capture photos of the gorgeous waterfalls which is best visited by following the &#8216;Malham Landscape Trail&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"South_Downs_and_South_Downs_Way\"><\/span><strong>South Downs and South Downs Way<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to our\nlong-distance hikes, we have a 100 miles or 160 km hiking trail that\u2019s hugging\nthe South Downs landscape, and that is the South Downs Way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the hike can take you about an average of nine days to finish. And along the way, you\u2019ll come across five National Nature Reserves like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sevensisters.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Seven Sisters Country Park (opens in a new tab)\">Seven Sisters Country Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the trail is\nquite long, it is not as difficult as the others on this list.
